Winter Ventilation In Pig Farms

A combined ventilation system with wall & ceiling inlets.

In this pig project, realized by AgriGo wall inlets are used in combination with our double ceiling inlet for the winter ventilation in pig farms. During minimum ventilation and cold winter periods, the ventilation is done mostly by ceiling inlets. Pigs are especially sensitive to cold and drafts, therefore controlling the minimum ventilation when the animals are young is the most difficult stage to manage. Ceiling inlets are an ideal solution at this stage since they provide pre-heated air from the attic. When more capacity is needed, or during summertime, the wall inlets are used also. This project in Belarus has to deal with extreme cold in the winters, so high insulation values from our polyurethane products really benefit the animals. Condensation and freezing effects will be much less dramatic with polyurethane inlets compared to plastic (non-insulated) inlets. The wind hoods you see in this project are essential protection against freezing winds that could otherwise blow directly into the house.
