De recirculatie opnening kan worden vergroot of verkleind om zo meer of minder warme lucht te mengen met verse buitenlucht. In het bovenste deel van de koker zit een regelklep waarmee exact kan worden gekozen hoeveel buitenlucht wordt binnenhaalt. Tijdens minimumventilatie, wanneer het recirculatieelement maximaal openstaat wordt de aftstand tussen de instroomring en de verdeelplaat kleiner waardoor de luchtsnelheid omhoog gaat.
